Amy Qin is a China Correspondent for The New York Times based in Hong Kong. She covers the intersection of culture, politics, and society across Asia. She has reported from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Cambodia, the Philippines, the United States, South Korea, Japan, and Thailand. Her work has also appeared in Foreign Policy, California Sunday Magazine, ChinaFile, PIN-UP Magazine, and The Atlantic.
Amy received a BA from the University of California, Berkeley in Political Science and Development Studies and an MPhil in Comparative Government from the University of Oxford. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
